A travel book for the strange and strange at heart with shadows of whimsy and wellness, Cross Country Cryptids outlines the road trip aspirations of a frustrated middle-aged millennial seeking to shake things up in her forties. Weary from years of stagnancy and plumpitude, the author presents a cryptid quest of epic proportions to bring adventure and nature back into daily life. Her journey celebrates creepies and crawlies, howlers and horrifiers, mysteries in many forms to propel herself away from constant screens and empty takeout containers. There are festivals in far off lands like Montana or Kentucky bourbon country. There are hikes, museums, statues with famous butts, and enough fun runs honoring the area’s elusive creepy critters to rack up all the Monster Miles you could ever want to run (or walk, or crawl).
